Chain
of Favors is a crusade intended to support and promote all those
groups or associations in the country that are trying to do something
for someone (what bends your back is not the load that is heavy
but how you carry it).
1. What will your contribution be? The project
is based in creating a directory of citizens, where people interested
in giving a helping hand and willing to join the Chain of Favors’
crusade may enroll giving their personal information (name, address,
telephone number) and their suggestion or proposal for help. This
could be anything, not only monetary contributions, but time,
work, materials, consulting, among other things.
Corporativa de Fundaciones, an organization created for this
purpose has a solid infrastructure, with offices, meeting room
and paid staff working full time that is exclusively devoted to
receive the suggestions or proposals from the citizens interested
in helping others. The organization has a list of all associations
and organizations existing in the city and the kind of help needed
to direct that “that you propose” to someone who will
really benefit from it and appreciate it.
To get register in that directory of citizens, the only necessary
thing is willing to engage in a long term commitment to help someone
and call or e-mail the offices of the organization (Corporativa
de Fundaciones) with your proposal. There is a wide variety of
options to help. There are 110 associations within the organization
and the Social Assistance of Jalisco has a list with other 440
associations.
Corporativa de Fundaciones has a video with 11 stories of unknown
heroes and other successful projects to demonstrate that if our
society participates, gets involved and organized, huge results
are obtainable favoring the unprotected ones.
2. If we get together in a big group with a strong commitment,
we may help to reduce delinquency levels in a very important measure.
For example: if we support groups that take care of the children
of the streets, or those fighting drug addiction, every person
rescued will be one delinquent less (8 out 10 crimes are committed
by a person under some drug influence)
3. In Mexico we have 20,000 groups trying to
do something for someone and only 400 of them have the means to
achieve their goal. In Jalisco there are 600.
4. Help us to find audiences where we may present
the film “Chain of Favors” showing 3 minute stories
of our city; it is a very positive and clear way showing how we
may get organized.
